Former Jets RB Chris Johnson reveals “shocking” ALS diagnosis
Former NFL running back Chris Johnson revealed that he was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) last year at age 39. The 40-year-old shared his story during an interview on Good Morning America.
Johnson said, “There’s no history of ALS in my family,” Johnson said in the interview that aired Monday on GMA. “My doctors believe my case is what’s called sporadic ALS, which is actually how the vast majority of ALS cases happen.” He added, “That’s one of the reasons this disease can be so shocking. It can happen to someone who never expected it.”
ALS is a progressive neurological disease that damages nerve cells controlling voluntary muscle movement. It unfortunately leads to increasing muscle weakness over time. Although there is currently no cure. Johnson hopes his announcement will raise awareness and support ongoing research into the disease.
NFL Reporter says Police Records Do Not Place Dianna Russini’s Reported Rescue in Wyckoff
NFL reporter Tony Farmer said police records and body camera footage from the Wyckoff Police Department do not support claims that Dianna Russini’s widely reported vehicle rescue occurred in Wyckoff, New Jersey.
Farmer stressed that his findings do not prove the incident never happened, only that it does not appear to have taken place in that jurisdiction.
The development follows revisions to the original Page Six report after a second witness disputed key details. As of now, there has been no official public finding determining whether the reported rescue did or did not occur.
Bodycam footage shows Dianna Russini mentioning Kevin O’Connell during a traffic stop
Newly released bodycam footage from Dianna Russini’s traffic stop does not appear to show her FaceTiming an NFL head coach, despite her earlier claim on a podcast that a coach spoke with an officer and helped her avoid a ticket.

The video instead shows Russini identifying herself as an NFL reporter and explaining she had been using her phone for work.
During the stop, the conversation turned to the Minnesota Vikings, and Russini showed the officer a text message involving head coach Kevin O’Connell. The footage has prompted renewed scrutiny of her earlier account.
Detroit Lions release Terrion Arnold after arrest on eight felony charges
The Detroit Lions have released cornerback Terrion Arnold following his recent arrest on eight felony charges related to an alleged February robbery and kidnapping in Tampa, Florida.
A judge set Arnold’s bond at $1 million while denying prosecutors’ request to hold him without bond.
Arnold, through his legal representatives, has denied the allegations and maintains his innocence. The former first-round pick appeared in 24 games over two seasons with Detroit before his release.
Star QB Baker Mayfield says Buccaneers seeking ‘middle ground’ on new deal
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback, Baker Mayfield, said both he and the team want to finalize a contract extension but are still working to find “the middle ground.”
“I would love to be there,” Mayfield said Saturday, via Steve McGehee of KWTV. “I think both sides want to get it done. Now it’s a matter of finding that middle ground and what makes both sides happy. … We fell in love with Tampa, and it’s a great place to raise kids and be around.”
“So regardless of what happens, I think we’ll spend our offseasons there. Obviously, it’s a little brutally hot, but it’s good for training, but it’s — yeah, I want to be there long term.”
“They treated me right, and it’s the first place I’ve gotten to that feels like Oklahoma when it comes down to football is football; how can they put you in the best position to have success on the field, and how can they give their resources to help you out? And so, it’s a great place,” he added.
Entering the final year of his current deal, Mayfield reiterated his desire to remain in Tampa Bay long term after leading the franchise to consecutive NFC South titles.
He has previously said he hopes to reach an agreement before the Buccaneers open training camp on July 27. Meanwhile, there were a lot of rumors about his massive contract.
NFL legend Tom Brady says Las Vegas Raiders ‘underperformed in every area’ after 3-14 season
Raiders minority owner Tom Brady criticized Las Vegas’ disappointing 3-14 campaign, saying the team “underperformed in every area” and that “there’s nobody who did a good job.”

“I would expect a lot of improvement from where it’s been,” Brady said on the ‘Stick to Football’ podcast. “Last year, we just underperformed in every area. And it’s everybody’s fault. That’s the reality.”
He added, “There’s nobody who did a good job. There’s not one player in the organization, there’s not anybody involved who did the job to the level that it needs to be done at. And everybody needs to improve. And it starts with me, and it filters down to the rest of the players on the field, and they’ve got to go out there, and ultimately they’ve got to perform at a high level.”
Brady stressed that accountability starts with him and extends throughout the organization, while expressing confidence that the Raiders will improve in 2026.
Following sweeping offseason changes, including a new head coach, key free-agent additions, and the selection of quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the No. 1 overall pick, Brady said he expects steady progress throughout the season.
