The Kansas City Chiefs will reunite with their former defensive star L’Jarius Sneed, who was part of the roster that won Super Bowls.
On Thursday, June 4, Adam Schefter of ESPN and other beat reporters, such as Charles Goldman, reported that the Chiefs are hosting CB Sneed for a visit on Thursday. A reunion here would make perfect sense. However, it is not confirmed that the Chiefs will add Sneed to their roster.
Sneed was the Chiefs’ 138th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and went on to be on their roster till 2024. After completing his four-year, $3,929,320 rookie contract with the Chiefs and a one-year, $19,802,000 contract for the 2024 NFL season, he was traded to the Tennessee Titans.
Currently, the star cornerback is a free agent. The Titans released Sneed on March 13 this year. Before the release, he was under a four-year, $76,400,000 contract with the Titans, which will go through 2028.
But as he is inactive and could potentially get traded to his former team, the Chiefs opened the door for the star CB.
The Chiefs have developed a reputation for moving on from cornerbacks before committing to top-dollar contracts. That approach was evident when Kansas City traded Trent McDuffie and allowed Jaylen Watson to leave in free agency.
The other reason was simple- his incredible contribution to the locker room in his rookie years.

When Sneed was in Kansas City, the Chiefs developed young defensive backs such as McDuffie, Watson, and Joshua Williams into reliable contributors. In his four years with the Chiefs, the 29-year-old made 241 total tackles, of which 223 were solo. He has also made 6.5 sacks throughout his stint and ended up with 10 interceptions.
But there is a hurdle. As of June 4, 2026, the Chiefs’ official depth chart looks like they have Nohl Williams, Kristian Fulton, Kevin Knowles, and Melvin Smith Jr. at the cornerback position.
But depending fully on the player who hasn’t played even 10 games in a year would be risky. So that will be the drawback. Also, per HITC and other publications, the contract might be low for Sneed with the Chiefs if the CB gets signed for a year.
Let’s see if the Chiefs reunite with Sneed.
