The New York Giants running back Tyrone Tracy left the fourth quarter of the Giants–Patriots game with a worrying injury that immediately halted play. Tracy went down after a run and needed help from the medical staff. According to NFL reporter Connor Hughes, Tracy “is hurt… taken off the field by two trainers… can’t put a foot on his left leg.” That description made it clear the rookie could not apply any pressure to the injured limb as he was escorted off.
With Tracy sidelined, the Giants were down to Devin Singletary and Eric Gray as their only active running backs for the remainder of the game. Tracy had been part of the regular rotation, making his exit notable for New York’s backfield usage and available personnel. The team has not yet provided an official update on the severity of the injury or his status moving forward.
Tyrone Tracy’s Injury History
Tyrone Tracy’s first documented injury came in August 2024 during Giants training camp, when he suffered a non-contact lower-leg injury. Trainers placed an air cast on his leg, and he was carted off the field. The injury appeared serious, but later imaging showed it was not season-ending.
His next significant injury occurred in September 2025 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Tracy exited the game after taking a hit and was ruled out with a dislocated right shoulder. Estimates projected a recovery window of two to four weeks, and he missed multiple games during that period.

Tracy returned to action in early October 2025 after recovering from the shoulder injury. Team updates confirmed he was cleared and available for the Giants’ backfield rotation.
And now his latest injury happened on Dec.1, 2025, in the fourth quarter of the Giants’ game against the Patriots. NFL reporter Connor Hughes reported that Tracy was taken off the field by two trainers and could not put weight on his left leg. The Giants have not yet released an official diagnosis.
