The Detroit Lions entered Week 3 with a 1-1 record, having suffered a season-opening loss to the Green Bay Packers. However, they quickly rebounded with a dominant 52-21 victory over the Chicago Bears in Week 2. Heading into their Monday Night Football matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, the Lions aimed to prove their resilience and establish themselves as legitimate contenders.

Following the victory, head coach Dan Campbell addressed the team in the locker room. He awarded game balls to Montgomery and Muhammad for their outstanding performances. Campbell’s speech highlighted the team’s commitment to executing their game plan and preparing for the upcoming challenge against the Cleveland Browns.

Campbell said, “Alright, that’s a great win. We did exactly what we said we needed to do, play complementary freaking football, man. When we needed it most, every phase picked up the slack, man. That’s how you win games against teams like that, man. And now you know what the barometer is like on the AFC. It’s a great win.”

“I’ve got a couple of game bowls here. You give out a million, but I’m going to give two. Alright, let’s start on offense. 12 carries, 151 yards. Woo! That was a win, man.” He also added, “Alright, this thing says 41 total tackles. It can’t be right. Okay, two and a half sacks, two quarterback hits, and two TFLs. Mr. Muhammad! You know what? That’s a great, great win, guys. Love you guys, man.” But Campbell also reminded the team about staying focused. “We’ll get ready for Cleveland. Break it up. Hey, great win. What else do you want to say? Hey, 15 more,” Campbell said.

In Baltimore, the Lions delivered a commanding performance, defeating the Ravens 38-30. A potent rushing attack and a relentless pass rush propelled the victory. The Lions RB David Montgomery led the ground game with a career-high 151 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while Jahmyr Gibbs added 67 rushing yards and two scores.

Detroit amassed a total of 224 rushing yards and executed two impressive touchdown drives of 98 and 96 yards. Quarterback Jared Goff contributed efficiently, completing 20 of 28 passes for 202 yards and a touchdown to Amon-Ra St. Brown, who recorded seven receptions for 77 yards.

Defensively, the Lions dominated the line of scrimmage, sacking Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson seven times. The defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad led the charge with 2.5 sacks, while Aidan Hutchinson and Jack Campbell each contributed a sack and a forced fumble. The defense’s relentless pressure disrupted Baltimore’s offensive rhythm throughout the game.

With the win, the Lions improved to 2-1 on the season and gained momentum heading into their Week 4 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. The team’s balanced offensive attack and aggressive defense showcased their potential to compete with top-tier opponents. As they prepare for the Browns, the Lions aim to build on their success and continue their ascent in the NFC North standings.

Browns vs. Lions: Will Dan Campbell’s Team Continue Its Winning Streak Against Cleveland?

The Detroit Lions will host the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, September 28, 2025. This matchup marks the 26th meeting between the two teams, with the Lions holding a commanding 19-6-0 all-time record against the Browns, including a 3-1 postseason advantage, per The Football Database.

Historically, the Lions have dominated the series, winning 76% of the games. The most notable period of competition occurred in the 1950s when both teams were powerhouse contenders. In four NFL Championship Games during that decade, the Lions emerged victorious three times, including a decisive 59-14 win in 1957.

Entering this season, the Browns have struggled, starting with two losses before securing their first win against the Green Bay Packers. In contrast, the Lions are coming off an impressive 38-30 victory over the Baltimore Ravens, showcasing a potent offense and a relentless defense.

Despite the Browns’ recent win, they are entering Week 4 as 8.5-point underdogs against the Lions, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The Lions’ high-powered offense and aggressive defense make them formidable opponents. At the same time, the Browns will need to significantly improve their performance to challenge Detroit’s momentum. Now, as the Lions prepare for this matchup, they aim to continue their strong play and extend their dominance over the Browns in this historic rivalry.
